Atty. Carlos P. Garcia has extensive experience, both in litigation and corporate advisory.

Litigation

As a litigator, he handled various criminal cases, including murder, serious physical injuries, syndicated estafa, qualified theft, cyber libel, violence against women and their children, falsification, money laundering, dangerous drugs cases, tax crimes, and illegal possession of firearms, among others. Criminal law practice takes him to courts of all levels, from trial courts up to the Supreme Court. He frequents prosecutorial offices and detention facilities, helping clients traverse the many pitfalls of arrests, inquests, and preliminary investigations. Foreigners detained in the Philippines have also entrusted him with their immigration affairs.

His other litigation practice areas include representation of local and multi-national companies in intra-corporate wars, product liability suits, and contract disputes; appearances before administrative agencies, including the Department of Trade and Industry, the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board, and the Securities and Exchange Commission; and ad-hoc and institutional arbitration proceedings.

Corporate Practice

As a corporate lawyer, he assumed the post of Head of Legal in a leading blockchain company in the Philippines, where he directed the company’s general legal affairs. He handled multi-jurisdictional B2B contract negotiations and drafting, general corporate advisory on day-to-day corporate affairs such as fraud handling, labor, marketing, and product development concerns, and corporate governance. He also has experience assisting start-ups, SMEs, and established corporations with their general legal needs, including handling of corporate secretarial affairs.

Before founding Garcia Law, he spent years practicing litigation in top firms in the Philippines, particularly in Siguion Reyna, Montecillo & Ongsiako, from 2016 to 2017, and in Sycip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan, from 2014 to 2016. He was also a partner for five years in Garcia Habacon and Han, from 2017 to 2023.

He obtained his Juris Doctor Degree from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law in 2013, with Second Honors, after which he was admitted to the Bar in 2014. In 2009, he obtained a degree in Bachelor of Science in Management, Major in Legal Management, Minor in International Business, from the Ateneo De Manila University.

He lectures on Civil Procedure and Property Law, from time to time.
